Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drive project execution from pre-construction to post-construction, under direction of CEO, including:
  • Schedule meetings, plan agendas, develop meeting materials, facilitate, and lead meeting discussion, summarize decisions and next steps, assist in communication and deliverable development, and develop implementation plans
  • Coordinate and negotiates business resources across jobs
  • Drive project management (Procore) scheduling software effectively
  • Maintain and update project records including RFI’s, ASI’s and as-builts.
  • Create and enforce a site-specific emergency action plan for assigned projects in collaboration with the Superintendent (Job Specific Safety Plans and Job Hazard Analysis).
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendor pre-qualification, registration (insurance and W-9), and project assignment
  • Identify, manage, and mitigate issues and risks
  • Prepare 3-week look ahead schedule collaboratively with General Superintendent
  • Support technology integration efforts into field operations for tracking, measuring and reporting purposes
  • Responsible for inputs into Procore for tracking and reporting across jobs, collaborating with Accounting and Finance internal resources, comparing actual-to-forecasted results and analyzing process changes for results
  • Drive change across the organization by analyzing existing business processes to find opportunities for improvement and best practices implementation, collaborating to re-engineer processes
  • Reviews field reports and ad hoc reports from Field Technicians, reviews and approves quantity tracking and other project reports, and aids with dashboard reporting
  • Assist with the management of job site manpower production and performance
  • Routinely visiting sites, managing and providing support to Superintendents and Foremen, promoting hurdle rates, project safety, means and methods, and quality of work, while making adjustments for any challenges; collaborating and coaching Superintendents to ensure scope, schedule and budget are met
  • Coordinate permitting for lane closures for Prime contracts, as well as coordinate with inspections,
  • Conduct and/or attend project meetings, pre-construction and construction meetings, task meeting, safety meetings and project staff meetings; attend company and industry events including meetings, trainings, workshops, etc; attend business development and technical planning meetings as requested, in town and out-of-town
  • Maintain awareness of projects awarded but not started to plan for labor (employees and subcontractors) and equipment needed for scheduling
  • Review and discuss subcontractor’s proposal, scope of work, contractual documents, and past performance history
  • Gain a thorough knowledge and understanding of the contract documents of client, customer and/or subcontractors; develop knowledge of job profitability to manage to expectations
  • Supports estimating team, reading and understanding project plans and specifications
  • Promotes job site safety, encouraging best practices and rectifying any job site hazards; enforcing all safety & environmental policies, and all applicable OSHA rules and regulations, including daily tailgate meetings, accident investigations, and development and implementation of corrective action plans

Job Summary:

Our Project Manager/Senior Project Manager is responsible for managing projects or assigned project subcomponents to ensure cost, schedule, scope, and deliverable requirements are met. Planning, leading, monitoring, and coordinating activities related to improvement projects are daily focuses for this role. Monitoring and improving organizational processes with the goal of improved and maximized efficiency is critical to the success of our organization. This position will aid with defining, designing, and implementing process improvements as a part of the greater strategic direction, and ensuring integration and alignment both vertically and horizontally across the organization. This role will be a key facilitator and coach for improving teams; establishing and maintaining performance metrics to measure overall project success.

Our Project Manager/Senior Project Manager will work collaboratively with CEO, VP, and General Superintendent with managing job site production, performance quality and safety, from pre-construction to closeout. The Project Manager/Senior Project Manager will also establish and maintain positive and effective relationships and communication with client, Superintendent(s), project team, project owner, subcontractors, consultants/architect/engineers, adjacent community, trade unions, and governmental agencies.

This role will support and work on Roadways projects within the Company that are generally focused on County, City and DOT milling, resurfacing, patching, paving, sidewalks, curb & gutter and occasionally subgrade work, on secondary roads and parking lots, primarily in Georgia but will support our rollout into other markets within the Southeastern region.

The qualified candidate must be willing to travel locally within the region he/she is assigned.

Qualifications (Experience, Education & Certifications, Key Attributes):

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficient with Microsoft and Procore (or similar project management) software
  • Knowledge of construction means and methods, costs and engineering principles
  • Self-motivated and possesses strong communication/interpersonal skills
  • Well organized, flexible, detail oriented and have the ability to multi-task.
  • Prioritize work load and consistently meet deadlines while constantly changing tasks and demands
  • College degree or comparable work experience

Project Manager

  • 2-5 years of project or construction management/project management experience

Senior Project Manager

  • 7 years of project or construction management/project management experience

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • ProCore, MS Office
  • PMP or PE certification, a plus
